Kayaking the Guadalquivir in Seville
Guided kayak tours on the calm Guadalquivir in central Seville, from Paseo Rey Juan Carlos I or Triana past the Torre del Oro, the bridges and La Cartuja; 2-hour trips from €25–30 (2026).
About Kayaking the Guadalquivir in Seville
In Seville the Guadalquivir is a broad, calm channel between the old town and Triana. Since 20th-century flood works diverted the main flow west of the city, this historic stretch has had little current, and rowing and canoe clubs train on it daily. From the water you see the river front as sailors did: the Torre del Oro, a 13th-century Almohad tower, the Triana bank, the Expo 92 site and La Cartuja island.
Naturanda tours start at the Club de Remo Ciudad de Sevilla on Paseo Rey Juan Carlos I. After a briefing on land, groups paddle past the Isabel II bridge to the Torre del Oro and the San Telmo bridge, then turn upstream under the Puente del Cachorro to La Cartuja before returning. Andalucía Geographic leaves from Triana on a similar route past the Nao Victoria replica. Tours last about two hours on the water, in stable sit-on-top kayaks.
Naturanda charges €29 for adults and €24 for children (2026), from €25 on some platforms; Andalucía Geographic is from €30 including kayak, buoyancy aid, dry bag and changing room. Some bookings set a minimum age of 7; under-18s need an adult, and you must be able to swim. Bring a change of clothes. There is no shade on the water, so in summer book morning or sunset slots. Strong wind or high water can cancel trips.
Best from March to June and September to November. Bring water shoes, a hat and sun cream. Tip: a sunset trip shows the Torre del Oro and Triana lit up.
