Acuario de Sevilla
The Acuario de Sevilla is an aquarium on the Guadalquivir riverside in Seville, opened in 2014, with about 7,000 animals of 400 species and a shark tank almost 9 metres deep.
About Acuario de Sevilla
The Acuario de Sevilla opened on 30 September 2014 on the Muelle de las Delicias, beside the river and near María Luisa Park. Its 35 tanks hold about 7,000 animals of some 400 species, on a route themed on the Magellan and Elcano voyage, which left Seville in 1519. It is a member of AIZA, the Iberian association of zoos and aquariums.
The two-floor route passes the Guadalquivir, the Atlantic, the tropical rainforest, the African savannah, the Indo-Pacific and a flooded forest with piranhas. The highlight is the Oceanario, a tank of about two million litres and nearly 9 metres deep, where sand tiger sharks swim with rays and shoals of fish. A loggerhead turtle, jellyfish and sea dragons, new in 2026, are other favourites. The Oceanario feed is on Mondays and Fridays at 13:30.
It opens daily, 10:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and to 19:00 at weekends, an hour later in July and August; last entry is an hour before closing. Tickets cost €18 for adults, €13 for children 4 to 14 and €15 for over-65s; under-4s go free. An online family pack for two adults and two children costs €49. Allow 90 minutes. There are only vending machines, and no food on the route. The route is step-free, and wheelchairs can be borrowed.
It suits a hot afternoon or a wet day. Weekday mornings outside school-trip season are quietest. On Thursdays from 15:00 limited online tickets cost €13 and €9. Flash photography is not allowed.
