AquaMijas
AquaMijas is a family water park on the A-7 between Mijas Costa and Fuengirola, marking its 40th anniversary in 2026, with crossing slides of 108 and 92 m, a wave pool and a rapids river.
About AquaMijas
AquaMijas lies beside the A-7 in the Las Lagunas district of Mijas Costa, on the eastern edge of Fuengirola and 25 km from Málaga. It marked its 40th anniversary in 2026. With about a dozen attractions it is smaller than Aqualand, but its lawns, shade and picnic area make it a favourite with local families.
The headline ride is a pair of crossing slides, 108 m and 92 m long, alongside a steep speed slide, a winding slide with five plunge pools, a family slide and four soft racing lanes. The Río Bravo is a fast river ride, and there is a freshwater wave pool, a calm pool and the Aqua Splash area for small children, with mascot visits and lakeside shows in summer.
The park opens daily from spring to mid-September (in 2026 it closed from 14 September), 10:30–18:30. 2026 gate prices: adults (12+) €34.50 (€32.50 online), ages 7–11 €26, ages 3–6 €19; family 2+2 €99.50; cheaper afternoon tickets from 15:00. Allow 4–5 hours. Parking is free, safety boxes can be hired, and you may bring food to the picnic area.
June and early September are calmest; at summer weekends arrive at opening to claim shade. Afternoon tickets suit families with small children. Bring flip-flops and sun cream but no glass or knives. Under-13s must be with an adult, and a combined online ticket with nearby Bioparc saves money.

Nearby places to visit
AquaMijas sits just across the motorway from Fuengirola, so it combines well with the town: Bioparc Fuengirola (1 km) is a short drive away and shares a combined summer ticket, and the beach of Playa de Fuengirola (1 km) runs along the whole town front. The hilltop Castillo Sohail (1 km) guards the mouth of the Fuengirola river at the western end of the promenade, and the Fuengirola Adventure Golf (1 km) course is near the park. Up in the hills, the white village of Mijas Pueblo (6 km) is reached by bus or a 20-minute drive and has viewpoints, a small bullring and shops.
