Sea Life Benalmádena
Sea Life Benalmádena is an aquarium in the Puerto Marina of Benalmádena Costa with an underwater shark tunnel, rays, seahorses, otters and the world's smallest penguins, open daily.
About Sea Life Benalmádena
Sea Life Benalmádena fills a building at the seaward end of Puerto Marina in Benalmádena Costa. Part of the international Sea Life chain, it follows a one-way route through themed halls and runs breeding work with seahorses (three species bred), poison dart frogs and vulnerable Asian short-clawed otters, which have raised a pup here.
Highlights are the Jurassic Tunnel, where sharks and rays pass overhead, Ray Island with its nursery, the seahorse hall and a rockpool where children touch starfish. Later come piranhas, a coral reef, a bioluminescent beach, the otters and Blue Penguin Island, with the world's smallest penguins. Feeds run daily; penguins at 11:45 and 14:00.
Open daily except 25 December, 11:00–18:45 (last entry 18:00), later in July and August. Adults (15+) pay €21 at the door or €18.50 online a day ahead; children pay less and under-3s are free (2026). Allow 1.5–2 hours. Coastal buses stop at Benalmar every 15 minutes. No food inside, but re-entry is allowed and a food truck overlooks the marina.
Cloudy and rainy days are busiest until about 14:00, so go later in the afternoon; on hot days it is a cool break from the beach. Plan around the penguin and otter feeds. There is no cloakroom and pushchairs may have to be left at peak times, so a baby carrier helps; flash photography is not allowed.
