Playa Rincón del Sol, 'the sun's corner', is the north-eastern end of La Carihuela in Torremolinos, on the Costa del Sol in Málaga province. It is the first stretch of sand you reach after rounding the rocky Punta de Torremolinos from El Bajondillo, and it is a calmer, more intimate part of the beach than the busy central stretch.

La Carihuela as a whole runs for about 2.1 km to the Benalmádena boundary, with dark, fine sand averaging about 40 metres wide. It is the beach of Torremolinos's old fishing quarter, which grew into a major international resort, and the restaurants along its promenade still specialise in pescaíto frito, Málaga-style fried fish. The promenade itself is part of more than 7 km of continuous seafront linking all of the town's beaches.

La Carihuela flies a Blue Flag and is well equipped, with lifeguards, showers, sunbed hire, pedal boats, children's play areas and step-free access, and Rincón del Sol has its own beach bars facing the sea.

May, June, September and October bring warm days without the peak-season crush. Swim in the morning, while the sand is quietest, and stay on for the sunset views and fried fish on the promenade.

Round the point to the north-east, Mini Golf Park Torremolinos (1 km) is a themed 18-hole minigolf on the Bajondillo promenade, and Playa Bajondillo (1 km) is the town's central beach, reached on foot down Calle San Miguel. South-west along the promenade, the main stretch of Playa de la Carihuela (1 km) continues past the fried-fish restaurants of the old fishing quarter. Inland, the Miguel Ángel Jiménez Golf Academy (2 km), named after the Málaga-born tour professional, offers coaching and practice.
