Hacienda Guzmán

Baroque olive hacienda 20 minutes from Seville, where three towers once held beam presses; tours cover a restored 17th-century mill, a modern almazara and 150 olive varieties.

About Hacienda Guzmán

Olive oil has been made at Hacienda Guzmán for more than five centuries; Hernando Colón, son of Christopher Columbus, shipped its oil to the Americas. From the 16th to the 19th century each of its three towers held a beam press, and the buildings are largely 18th-century Baroque. The Juan Ramón Guillén Foundation is based here, and the estate's modern mill presses four single-variety extra virgin oils sold as HG.

The Four Varietals tour covers the olivoteca, a living collection of more than 150 varieties from 13 countries, the R&D centre and the HG mill, then the restored 17th-century mill with its animal-driven stones and a 15-metre mahogany press beam. It continues past the Pura Raza Española stables, the carriage museum and the Andalusian garden, and ends with a tasting of the four oils and a bottle to take home.

Tours run Monday to Thursday at 10:00, 12:00 and 16:00, and Friday at 10:00 and 12:00 (1 hour 30 minutes); none at weekends or on holidays. In 2026 the Four Varietals visit costs €50, with breakfast, picnic and premium versions from €65 to €140. Book online 72 hours ahead; tours in English and Spanish, maximum 25. Under-6s free, ages 6–11 half price. Parking on site; the building is not adapted for reduced mobility.

From October to January the modern mill is working. Buy the four HG oils as a set. Tip: ring 607 081 145 at the gate to be let in.
