About Real Club de Golf de Sevilla
Real Club de Golf de Sevilla is a private club just off the Seville to Utrera road, about 3 km south of Seville near Montequinto, in the municipality of Alcalá de Guadaíra. It opened in the early 1990s and was José María Olazábal's first course design.
The par-72 course measures about 6,380 metres from the back tees. The ground is flat, but four large lakes come into play on several holes and 96 bunkers guard undulating greens. The 3rd, a short par 3, plays from a raised tee to a green ringed by water; the 11th, the hardest of the par 3s, has a tiny green and five bunkers; the 14th is a drivable par 4 with water down the left; and the 18th has water on both sides. Thousands of trees give some shade in summer.
In November 2004 the club hosted the WGC-World Cup, with teams from 24 nations, and it later staged the Spanish Open in 2008 and 2010 and the Open de Andalucía in 2009. Visitors paying green fees are admitted.
October to May is the time to play. From June to September, Seville's heat makes the first tee time of the day the only comfortable choice.
