Villa Padierna Golf Club is a three-course complex in the Los Flamingos hills, where the boundaries of Benahavís, Marbella and Estepona meet, just inland from the coast road at kilometre 166. Its three 18-hole layouts share a clubhouse, practice ground and booking office beside the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace hotel.

Flamingos, opened in 2001 to a design by Antonio García Garrido, is a par-71 of 5,714 metres with sea views; it hosted the European Senior Tour from 2002 to 2004 and the Ladies European Tour in 2010. Alferini (2007), credited by the club to Cristóbal Guerrero, is the championship test at par 73 and 6,641 metres, and staged the LET's season-ending Open de España in 2022. Tramores (2009), a par-63 executive course of 3,468 metres, has no handicap limit and takes about three hours.

The 17-bay driving range is free on the day you play, and the Hole 55 restaurant serves all three courses. The club is also the official winter base for the Ladies European Tour and the PGAs of Germany and Austria.

Spring and autumn give the best conditions. Book a morning start on Alferini, where rounds take about five hours, and in summer save Tramores for late afternoon.

The club's own three courses are the obvious starting points: Flamingos Golf (100 m), the original 2001 layout with sea views and a tour history; Alferini Golf (400 m), the longest and hardest of the three; and Tramores Golf (700 m), the short par-63 course that suits beginners or a quick round. Beyond the resort, El Paraíso Golf (2 km) is a Gary Player design from 1973 and one of the longer-established courses on this coast, while La Resina Golf & Country Club (2 km), in Estepona, offers a relaxed nine-hole par-3 layout. Five courses within a couple of kilometres make it easy to vary a golf week without long drives.
