Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club lies at kilometre 44.5 of the A-397 Ronda road, in the municipality of Benahavís, about 5 km above San Pedro Alcántara. It was designed by Seve Ballesteros and opened in 1991.

The 18-hole, par-71 course measures about 6,073 metres and threads through two valleys into the foothills of the Benahavís mountains. Flat holes beside a lake alternate with elevated tee shots onto plateau fairways, and the course is tight rather than long, with hazards in play, so accuracy off the tee counts for more than power. At the 3rd, a lake runs down the left of the fairway with bunkers on the right; the par-5 8th is a tight dogleg right falling sharply downhill to a green with water in front; and the 13th asks for a long, accurate drive from an elevated tee to a bunkered landing area.

The clubhouse terrace looks over the first tee and down the valley to the Mediterranean. There is a driving range, golf academy, tennis and paddle courts, a gym, and clubs, trolleys and buggies for hire. It is hilly, so take a buggy.

October to May is the best season. In summer, take the earliest tee time and finish before the heat settles in the valleys.

Up in the hills, Club de Golf La Zagaleta (3 km) is the private club of the gated La Zagaleta estate, without public access. Towards the coast, Los Naranjos Golf Club (3 km) is one of the established courses of Nueva Andalucía, and San Pedro Golf Club (3 km) is an inexpensive municipal practice centre on the edge of San Pedro Alcántara.
