Bodegas Osborne

Osborne's Bodega de Mora in El Puerto de Santa María, the 18th-century cradle of the bull-logo sherry and brandy house, with daily tours in English, German and Spanish.

About Bodegas Osborne

Thomas Osborne Mann, a merchant from Exeter, settled in El Puerto de Santa María in the late 18th century and the company dates its foundation to 1772. Still family-owned, Osborne also makes brandy, gin and ham, but El Puerto is its sherry base. The Bodega de Mora on Calle Los Moros ages DO Jerez wines, among them Fino Quinta, VORS amontillados and olorosos and Brandy de Jerez, in American oak butts within 19th-century cellars.

The guided visit lasts about 90 minutes. You walk through the ageing bodega with its VORS soleras and brandy casks and learn how the bull, designed in 1956 as a brandy advert, became a national symbol in the Toro Gallery. The tasting covers four Jerez wines and a vermouth with savoury snacks. Premium, VIP and en rama visits are available on request, and the Toro Gallery shop sells the range.

Tours run daily with booking: in English at 10:00, German at 11:00 and Spanish at 12:00, with an extra Spanish tour at 19:30 from 1 June to 15 September; French on request. The standard visit costs €26.50 per adult and €5 for ages 6–17 (2026); under-6s are free. The bodega has no private parking: use the free car parks at the bullring or Avenida de la Bajamar. The building has adapted access.

El Puerto is liveliest in summer and during the Feria in spring. Combine the morning tour with lunch at the fried-fish shops of the Ribera del Marisco. The catamaran from Cádiz saves driving after a tasting.
