OleoAlmanzora
Family olive oil producer in Pulpí with four estates of Arbequina and Koroneiki trees, running daily grove and tasting visits since 2017, with options that add the Pulpí Geode.
About OleoAlmanzora
OleoAlmanzora was founded by José Sánchez Parra, from a family of olive growers. It farms four estates with more than 30,000 trees in high-density plantings of Arbequina and Koroneiki, harvests early and extracts the oil cold, below 27°C. Besides single-variety oils and an Arbequina-Koroneiki coupage, it makes oils with natural aromas such as garlic, lemon, orange, rosemary, smoked and black truffle, and oil pearls for chefs.
The standard visit begins with a walk through one of the groves to explain cultivation and harvest, continues to the company's premises with its tasting room, storage and bottling line, and ends with a tasting of all the oils and condiments. Upgrades add a Mediterranean breakfast or a sensory masterclass. The shop also sells Almería honey and jams.
Visits run every day of the year on booking, for a minimum of two people, with prepayment. Prices in 2026: guided visit and tasting €16 (children 4–7 €6.50), with breakfast or afternoon snack €26, with masterclass €32, and the Joyas de Pulpí day with the geode, castle and mineral room €46. Guides speak Spanish, English and French. Visitors drive their own cars from the shop to the grove; the industrial estate has parking.
The olive harvest, from October to December, is the liveliest time. Book the geode ahead in summer. Buy the Koroneiki oil and the lemon condiment. Tip: take the Joyas de Pulpí option, which arranges all the entries for one day.

Pulpí's star attraction is the Pulpí Geode, a giant gypsum geode inside the Mina Rica mine, 6 km away, which can be booked as part of an OleoAlmanzora day. The beaches of San Juan de los Terreros are about 10 km east: Playa de Calipso (San Juan de los Terreros), Playa La Serena and Playa Las Palmeras lie side by side below the castle. Further south, the Castillo del Marqués de los Vélez in Cuevas del Almanzora, with its archaeology museum, is 17 km away, a good stop on the drive towards Vera and Mojácar.
