AOVEland (Oleícola Jaén)

Visitor mill of the Oleícola Jaén group on the edge of Baeza: a high-tech working almazara with an immersive film room, oil cellar and shop, winner of the Expoliva 2025 oleotourism award.

About AOVEland (Oleícola Jaén)

Oleícola Jaén is an olive oil group whose main mill stands on the western edge of Baeza, the Renaissance town that shares World Heritage status with Úbeda. Its visitor centre, AOVEland, won the oleotourism award at Expoliva, the Jaén olive oil fair, in 2025. The mill works mainly Picual from the La Loma groves, with Royal, Arbequina, Coratina and organic lines, and its shop stocks more than 50 references.

Visits follow the fruit from the reception yard to what the company calls its 4.0 mill, then on to the crypt and the Templo, a stainless-steel oil cellar used as a gallery for works by José Ríos and Isabel Cabello. Outside stand Mauchi, described as one of the tallest olive trees in the world, and an ancient tree called El Abuelo. The film Arjé fills a 180-degree screen before a guided tasting with local products.

The Almazara & Cata visit runs daily, lasts about 1.5 hours and costs €20 per adult (2026). An English tour runs Monday to Friday at 10:00, also €20. A night tour in the milling season and a GastroXperience with lunch are sold separately. Book on the official site; direct bookings fund the Fundación Grupo Oleícola Jaén. There is parking and the mill is step-free.

Mid-October to January is milling season. Buy the early-harvest or organic Picual in the oleoteca, and pair the tour with a walk round Baeza's old town, 15 minutes away on foot.

The mill is a short walk from Baeza's monumental centre: Baeza Cathedral and the carved facade of Palacio de Jabalquinto are both 1 km east, with the cathedral square and the old university between them. Oleícola San Francisco, the family mill with 1927 presses in Begíjar, is 5 km west. Úbeda, 10 km east along the ridge, has the Sacra Capilla del Salvador and the Archaeological Museum of Úbeda (both 10 km). The Museo de la Cultura del Olivo, at Hacienda La Laguna near Puente del Obispo, is about 13 km south-west.
