Costa Ballena Ocean Golf Club is the golf course of the Costa Ballena resort, on the Atlantic coast of Cádiz province between Rota and Chipiona, about 5 km along the Chipiona to El Puerto de Santa María road. It lies on the beachfront, among dunes.

José María Olazábal's firm designed it, with construction starting in the mid-1990s. It has 27 holes in three nines that can be combined into different par-72 rounds, plus a separate nine-hole par-3 course that is also approved for pitch and putt. The layout is flat, with sea views, several holes running beside the beach, and strategically placed bunkers and lakes; it is demanding for low handicappers but forgiving for less experienced players. It has hosted events including the Copa de S.M. el Rey.

The practice ground is one of the largest in Europe: a natural-grass, floodlit driving range at least 300 metres wide that takes up to 120 players at once, with putting and chipping areas. Buggies, trolleys and clubs can be hired.

Spring and autumn give the best mix of mild temperatures and firm conditions. In summer, take an early tee time, to finish before the midday heat.

Costa Ballena is surrounded by the Atlantic beaches of Rota. Playa de Punta Candor (4 km) is the closest, a natural beach about 1.5 km long backed by protected dunes. Further towards town, Playa Virgen del Mar–Puntalillo (7 km) continues the coastline, and Rota Golf Club (7 km), on the naval base, is the nearest alternative course. In Rota itself, Playa de la Costilla (8 km) is the town's main beach, backed by a promenade beside the old centre, and Playa del Rompidillo (8 km) faces the Bay of Cádiz east of the marina. Rota's old town makes an easy stop for lunch between the course and the beach.
