Family winery on a 600-hectare holm-oak estate outside Ronda, with 25 ha of vines at about 900 m under DO Sierras de Málaga, known for its Pinot Noir and Tadeo Petit Verdot.
About Cortijo Los Aguilares
Los Aguilares was founded just over 20 years ago on a family estate of more than 600 hectares, mostly old holm oaks and scrub, of which 25 hectares are vines. At over 900 metres it grows Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Syrah, Graciano, Garnacha Blanca, Vijiriega and Viognier under DO Sierras de Málaga; the El Encinar plot grows Pinot Noir under a 200-year-old oak.
The standard visit, Descubrir, walks through the vineyard and winery and ends with a tasting. Inmersión en el Terruño adds the full range with local appetisers, and there is a guided wine walk across the estate. At the cellar door look for Tadeo (Petit Verdot), the Pinot Noir, Pago El Espino, the Breñal white and the clay-aged Tadeo Tinaja.
Open Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00, with Saturday mornings on request for four or more; closed Sundays and holidays. Booking is essential. Prices in 2026: Descubrir €35, Inmersión €55, summer picnic among the vines €80 (child €30). Visits run in Spanish, English and French. The estate is about 5 km north-east of Ronda on the Campillos road, with parking; a car or taxi is needed.
The harvest usually runs through September; spring is green and mild, and picnics suit long summer days. Ask about the latest Pinot Noir release, which sells out. Tip: book a weekday morning visit and have lunch in Ronda afterwards.

The cave-house village of Setenil de las Bodegas, where streets run under rock overhangs, is 11 km north. Two more producers make a wine and olive oil day: Almazara El Toro, the designer olive oil mill on the Ardales road, is 4 km, and Bodega Descalzos Viejos, a winery in a restored convent below the gorge, is 8 km. Driving between them takes 10 to 15 minutes.
