Almazara El Toro
Organic olive oil mill and museum just outside Ronda designed by Philippe Starck for the LA Organic brand, with grove walks, a guided look at the presses and tastings from €15.
About Almazara El Toro
The project grew from LA Organic, the oil brand founded in the 1990s by Pedro Gómez de Baeza, owner of the LA Amarilla grove, reviving an oil once made in Ronda by nuns. Philippe Starck designed the mill, museum and grounds, billed as the first designer olive mill in the world. Olives are grown organically, picked by vareo and pressed at once, giving oils below 0.3% acidity.
The self-guided Plus visit covers the oil museum, the building and a walk through the groves to a viewpoint, with audio guide and audio tasting. The guided Premium visit adds the working mill, a guided tasting and all the oils with artisan bread. Starck installations, such as a giant eye, are dotted around. The shop sells the LA Organic range; lunch can be booked with the ticket.
Open Wednesday to Sunday: Plus entries from 10:00 to about 16:30, Premium visits at 10:30 and 12:30, each lasting about 90 minutes. Prices in 2026: Plus from €15, Premium €28, private visits from €525 plus VAT; under-eights free. Booking online is advised. Guides speak Spanish and English. The mill is 4 km from Ronda on the A-367, with parking.
The olive harvest runs from October to January, when the mill is pressing and a limited make-your-own-oil experience runs. Spring brings wild flowers to the groves. Tip: choose a Premium slot to see the presses, which the self-guided ticket leaves out.
