Aceites Oro Bailén
Estate mill of the Gálvez González family beside the A-4 near Bailén, maker of Oro Bailén Reserva Familiar and named best olive oil mill in the world by World's Best Olive Oils in 2025.
About Aceites Oro Bailén
The Gálvez González family made bricks in Bailén before turning to olive oil. In 1999 they bought La Casa del Agua, in the Guadalquivir lowlands, and Los Juncales, in the Sierra Morena foothills, and in 2005 set up Galgón 99 to mill and bottle their own early-harvest oil. The groves now cover over 2,000 hectares and give Picual, Arbequina, Hojiblanca, Frantoio and organic Picual. AEMO named it Spain's best mill in 2013; World's Best Olive Oils ranked it first in the world in 2025.
The tour walks through a working mill: fruit reception and washing, milling, malaxing, centrifuging, the steel cellar, filtering and bottling, with panels and films on the way. It can begin with a walk in the Picual grove, and ends in the shop with a guided tasting of the Reserva Familiar range.
Visits last 60 to 120 minutes and cost from €16 per person (2026), with the grove as an option; book a slot online. Tours are in Spanish and English, with French and German on request. Weekend and holiday slots need at least 10 people, so weekdays suit couples. The mill is fully accessible with parking at the door; leave the A-4 at exit 310 towards Plomeros.
From October to December the mill is pressing the first fruit. Buy the Reserva Familiar Picual. Hold small children by the hand in the noisy cleaning and extraction areas.
