Mercado Santa Ana, Estepona
A gastronomic market in Estepona's old town, opened in March 2026 inside the town's 1949 food market building, with seven food and drink concepts and seating for about 400 people.
About Mercado Santa Ana, Estepona
Estepona's market hall on Calle Villa was built in 1949 and sold fresh food until 2018, when it became a gourmet market. It reopened in March 2026 as Mercado Santa Ana, run by restaurateur Quique Ceano and three partners after six months of works costing over €1 million. Sealed windows were reopened, and the hall of about 1,100 square metres stands beside the remains of the Castillo de San Luis.
Seven concepts share the space: Coalla for wine and gourmet products, with over 600 labels; Da Mario for fresh pasta and other Italian dishes; Takeko for Japanese food; Señorío de Montanera for Iberian ham; Crustum, a sourdough bakery; Victoria craft beer; and Varsovia, a cocktail bar. You sit anywhere and order from any counter.
The market's own channels give hours of 12:00 to midnight daily. Walk-ins are welcome; groups can book by WhatsApp on +34 689 210 576. It is in the pedestrianised old town, 500 m from Playa de La Rada; park centrally and walk. Allow 1.5–2 hours. It suits couples, groups with mixed tastes and families; it is not a fresh-food market for self-caterers.
Arrive around 13:00 on a weekday for an unhurried lunch, or after 20:00 on Friday and Saturday for the busiest bar. Prices vary between counters, so check menus before ordering for a group, and ask which kitchens are serving, as some may keep shorter hours.
