Playa de los Enebrales is the long natural beach just east of Punta Umbría on the Huelva coast, beside the A-497 road from Huelva. It runs for about 2.3 km, is around 50 metres wide, and has fine golden sand facing the open Atlantic.

The beach borders the Paraje Natural Los Enebrales de Punta Umbría, a protected area of about 162 hectares declared in 1989. It covers dunes, junipers and pine woods. Two lines of dunes back the shore: younger dunes parallel to the sea, and older, stable ones where the junipers grow, together with stone pines, broom, thyme and rosemary. Birds include azure-winged magpies, hoopoes and nightjars.

You reach the beach on foot along wooden boardwalks from the road, which cross the dunes without damaging them. A cycle path of about 3 km links Punta Umbría with La Bota. Facilities are few, at most a seasonal beach bar, so bring water and shade.

Its width means it rarely feels crowded, even in July and August, but June and September are the most comfortable months. Walk in early in the morning, when the pine woods are coolest and the birds are most active, or in the evening for a long walk at low tide.

Along the coast, Playa de la Bota (2 km) is the next stretch towards El Portil, reached by the cycle path that runs through the protected area. Playa de Punta Umbría (4 km) is the town beach, with restaurants and promenade. Inland, Golf Nuevo Portil (7 km) in Cartaya and Bellavista Golf Club (10 km) in Aljaraque are the nearest courses. Across the Huelva estuary, the Martín Alonso Pinzón House Museum (10 km) in Palos de la Frontera remembers the captain of the Pinta on Columbus's first voyage. By road, getting there means going round through Huelva.
