La Reserva Andalucía, El Castillo de las Guardas

La Reserva Andalucía is a drive-through wildlife park in El Castillo de las Guardas, Seville province, with a 10 km safari route through more than 200 hectares of former mining land.

About La Reserva Andalucía, El Castillo de las Guardas

La Reserva Andalucía, long known as La Reserva del Castillo de las Guardas, lies in the hills of the Sierra Norte about 58 km north-west of Seville, on old mining land. The private park covers more than two million square metres, with animals of over a hundred species in large paddocks, and supports the Go For Rhinos conservation project.

The core of the visit is a 10 km safari route of about two hours, driven in your own car or on the park's road train, past elephants, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, bison, lions, hyenas and hippos; at marked points you may step out. On foot there is a 15,000 m² aviary with meerkats and wallabies, dwarf goats children can touch and a mock Wild West town. Sea lion and bird-of-prey shows are included; karts cost extra. In 2026 the park said some animals are at times kept back from the road because visitors broke the rules.

It opens every day from 10:00, last entry 16:30, and you may stay until 18:00. In 2026 tickets cost €27 for adults and €19 for children 3 to 12 and over-65s; under-3s go free. You may bring a picnic, and there is a snack bar and restaurant. Feed the animals only with food sold by the park. There is no public transport.

Spring and autumn are best; in summer the animals rest in the shade by midday. Arrive at 10:00, especially at weekends, when queues of cars build up. Drive slowly, follow the signs on windows and bring water and hats.
