Aquavelis
Aquavelis is a summer water park at Torre del Mar in the Axarquía, open since 1987, with 20 attractions including an 80 m Kamikaze, the Super Niagara, a wave pool and a new kids' island.
About Aquavelis
Aquavelis lies in El Tomillar on the northern edge of Torre del Mar, the beach district of Vélez-Málaga, 20 minutes' drive east of Málaga. Open since 1987, it is the only large water park in the Axarquía, with 20 attractions; the Isla de la Aventura children's area was new in 2026, and a virtual reality arena is on site.
The Kamikaze is an 80 m drop for swimmers over 1.40 m. Super Niagara, the dark Magic Hole, a multi-lane racer, soft slides, the Espiral and the Río Rápido ring ride follow, plus a wave pool. Younger children have Kid Niagara, Kid Río and Kid Kamikaze (from 1.10 m), the Mini Foam and Mini Kamikaze slides, AquaSplash and the Isla de la Aventura.
Open daily from June to 8 September (2026), 11:00–18:00, to 19:00 in July and August. Tickets go by height: over 1.40 m €30 at the gate or €28 online, 1.15–1.40 m €24, 0.95–1.15 m €16, under 0.95 m free; gate afternoon rates are cheaper. Allow 4–6 hours. Free parking is limited. There is a restaurant, and own food is allowed in the picnic area.
There is no fast pass, so in July and August arrive at 11:00 and ride the Kamikaze and Super Niagara first. Capacity is limited, so book August weekends online. Sunbeds cost €5 but free shade is plentiful; lockers cost €4–5. Bring flip-flops, though some slides require bare feet.

Aquavelis is a short drive from the seafront of Torre del Mar, where Playa de Torre del Mar (1 km) has a long promenade, beach bars and a lighthouse. Along the coast to the east, the fishing harbour of Playa de la Caleta de Vélez (3 km) has fish restaurants, while Vélez-Málaga old town, with its Moorish fortress tower and the MVVEL Museum of Vélez-Málaga (4 km), lies just inland. The Axarquía hills behind are dotted with white villages such as Sayalonga (9 km) and Macharaviaya (11 km), both reached on winding roads through avocado and mango groves. Nerja and its famous caves are about 20 minutes further east along the A-7.
