Bodega Señorío de Nevada
Winery and four-star hotel at Cónchar in the Valle de Lecrín, founded in 1996, growing Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo at 650 m for DOP Granada wines.
About Bodega Señorío de Nevada
Bodegas Señorío de Nevada was set up in 1996 on the Cortijo de Venta Hundida at Cónchar, at the entrance to the Alpujarra. The vineyard, on mineral-rich slate at just over 650 metres, swings from 35°C by day to 12°C at night in the ripening months, so the harvest comes late, in October. Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and the local Tempranillo lead the plantings, producing about 80,000 bottles a year under DOP Granada.
The guided tour walks through the vines, then the production hall, where old concrete vats gave way to stainless steel tanks, and the underground ageing cellar of American and French oak barrels. It ends with a commented tasting of one, three or six wines with an appetiser. Other sessions pair wines with cheese or chocolate.
Tastings run on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 in English and 12:30 in Spanish, lasting 90 minutes; weekdays depend on availability for groups of six or more. Book at least two days ahead. Prices in 2026: Esencial €15, Degustación €20, Experiencia €26. The estate lies off the Cónchar road near the A-44, with parking; staying at the hotel avoids driving after the tasting.
The harvest in October brings the Fiesta de la Vendimia (24 October in 2026) and night-time Vendimia Cósmica events. The pool opens from June to September. Buy the oak-aged reds. Tip: combine the morning tasting with lunch in the restaurant, which looks across the vineyard to the mountains.
