About La Envía Golf

La Envía Golf is an 18-hole, par-70 course in the municipality of Vícar, set in a valley at the foot of the Sierra de Gádor, about 15 minutes' drive west of Almería city. From the A-7 Almería to Málaga motorway, take the Aguadulce and Enix exit, turn towards Enix at the roundabout and the course is about 2 km further on, on the Alicún road.

Its character comes from the setting. The surrounding mountains shelter the gently undulating valley from the prevailing winds, and palms, mimosas, cacti and native shrubs edge each hole, a desert-style layout that stands out against the dry hills and the plastic greenhouses of the Poniente below. Long holes at the 2nd and 5th set the tone on the front nine, the 12th, 13th and 14th form the trickiest run on the back, and the 10th is a 168-metre par 3.

There is a 20-bay driving range, four practice greens, a restaurant and bar, and buggies, clubs and trolleys for hire. A five-star hotel with a spa of more than 5,000 square metres stands within the resort.

October to May gives the most comfortable golf. In summer, start early in the morning, before the heat builds in the valley.

Nearby places to visit

The nearest coast is at Playa del Palmer (8 km), Enix's only beach, a small, narrow strip beside the old coast road between Aguadulce and Almería. For a second round, Club de Golf Playa Serena (13 km) in Roquetas de Mar is a flat, lake-dotted course that opened in 1979. Almería's city beaches start east of the port: Playa de San Miguel (14 km) is closest to the old town, Playa del Zapillo (15 km) is the main urban beach along the Paseo Marítimo. All are within half an hour by car.
