About Añoreta Resort & Golf

Añoreta Golf is an 18-hole, par-72 course on the edge of Rincón de la Victoria, just east of Málaga city. It opened in 1990 and was the first course designed by José María Cañizares, the Spanish Ryder Cup player, and today it forms part of a resort with holiday accommodation beside the fairways.

It is a parkland layout of 5,833 metres in which water comes into play on eleven holes; the green at the 17th is surrounded by it on three sides. Fairways, greens and tees are generally generous, but some holes demand careful placement: the 3rd, a 528-metre hole with sea views from the tee, carries a water hazard, and the 8th is a 420-metre par four that doglegs right past a lake. Bermuda grass covers the fairways and tees, and trees give welcome shade in summer.

Practice facilities include a driving range, putting and chipping greens and a pitch and putt, and there is a golf school, buggy and club hire, tennis and padel, and a clubhouse restaurant and bar. The club holds ISO 14001 environmental certification.

The course is open all year. October to May brings the most comfortable conditions; in July and August, book an early tee time to finish before the midday heat.
